Abstract

The datadescribedinthisarticlewasobtainedinanexperiment designed forthegenerationofbiogasfromtheanaerobicco- digestion of Telfairiaoccidentalis (Fluted pumpkin)fruitrindand poultry manurebothofwhichcurrentlyconstituteanenviron- mental nuisanceinthelocalitieswheretheyarefound.Thedata presentedinthisarticleisontheuseofcombinedheatandpower (CHP) systemtoassesstheenergyandeconomicfeasibilityof applying thermo-alkalipretreatmentprocedurestooneofthe substrates(Flutedpumpkin)priortoanaerobicdigestion.Also,the microbial characterizationandsuccessionpatternofimportant microbes duringtheanaerobicdigestionprocesswasevaluated and thedatareportedinthispaper.
