Abstract
Environmental pollution is one of the issues of serious concern in the developing countries such as Nigeria; industrial activities contribute to the growth of the economy but usually at the expense of the environment. Although the Nigerian textile industry has in the time past contributed positively to the economy of her country it is not without its negative environmental impact. This review article covers the impact of Nigerian textile industry on her economy as well as her environment and most importantly is the environmental protection effort of the last five years (2008-2012)
