Abstract

In thisdataarticle, thesplittingtensilestrengthsofbamboo reinforcedlateriticconcretewithvaryingbambooculmsizesare presentedandcomparedwithbambooreinforcedpureconcrete (i.e. nolateriticreplacementfor fine aggregate).25%of fine aggregatewasreplacedwithlateriteandconcretecylinders werecastusingbambooreinforcementsbothfullculmsizesand half culmsizes.Thecylindersof300mmheightand150mm diameter werecuredfor28daysandsubjectedtosplittingtensile load at7days,14daysand28days.Threesamplesweretestedfor each conditionsandtheaveragevaluecomputed.
